Please note that the list below is for reference only full course outlines can be sent by email if requested or a mix of classes can be put together to meet your needs.

HSE recommends that all first aiders attend an annual update course.

OFQUAL level 3/SCQF level 6 courses:

Outdoor First Aid (2-Day) course-

This 2 day course is approved by the Forestry commision and covers all that is needed for First Aid for Duke of Edinburgh outings. Ideal for campers, outdoor activity groups, hill walkers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

First Aid at Work (3 day) course-

This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency

situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.

Annual update (FAW/EFAW)-

Refresher course to keep compliant with HSE

Paediatric First Aid(2 days)-

It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally accredited Level 3 Award.

This two-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted.

In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend both days and complete the two units of accreditation.

Activity First aid (2 day)- 

First aid aimed at group activities such as football, rugby, shinty, field hockey and other outdoor/indoor sports.  * Orkton Services is approved by the SYFA (Scottish Youth Football Association) to deliver this course to SYFA  groups.



OFQUAL level 2/SCQF level 5 courses:

Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day) course-

All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to

their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid(1 day)-

This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support. * Child care staff please note this (1 day course does not meet the requirements for OFSTED and EYFS)

CPR-AED (1 day)-

This very practical course will enable your learners to use the AED competently and with confidence.

Basic Life Support (1/2 Day)-

This is a short course in Basic Life Support. The aim of the course is to enable all students to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is

breathing normally, and how to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.

Oxygen therapy administration(1 day)-


Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis (1 day)
